Co-lecturer for the Master’s courses “AI in manufacturing and foundations of precision engineering". Focus on applied AI methods for industrial manufacturing systems, connecting state-of-the-art research with real-world engineering challenges.
• Provide expert knowledge on Bayesian optimization and Gaussian process models • Implement data driven optimization features in Python
• Contribute to various research projects to foster knowledge transfer between ETH Zurich and Swiss industry partners • Development of new sensors, stochastic models and experiment selection methods for grinding and turning machines • Supervision of student projects (1 focus project with four students, 3 master’s theses, 3 semester projects, 3 bachelor’s theses, and 1 study on mechatronics) • Teaching exercises in the field of control engineering • Publication of research results (2 patents, 6 journal papers, 2 conference papers, and 2 book sections)
• Product development of radial compressors with gas bearings for refrigeration systems • Responsible for the control development (LabView and PLC) of compressors • Collaboration with the Lucern University of Applied Science (responsible for the aerodynamics and control work packages) • Inventor of an international patent (WO 2019/197207A1)
