Executive leader in high-stakes systems | Governance, responsibility & sustainable impact beyond operation
To help develop my teams as a physician-in-chief I am an ICF-trained executive coach, partnering with leaders in high-stakes environments to cultivate presence, trust, and clarity. My coaching creates a safe, ethical space that deepens self-awareness, responsibility, and intentional action under pressure.
As the official journal of the American Association of Anesthesia Clinical Directors (AACD), the Journal of Clinical Anesthesia (JCA) addresses all aspects of anesthesia practice, including anesthetic administration, pharmacokinetics, preoperative and postoperative considerations. As Section Editor for Leadership, together with a vibrant peer-reviewer community, I shape and curate peer-reviewed content at the intersection of clinical excellence, leadership, culture, and organizational performance in anesthesiology and perioperative medicine. My role focuses on advancing practical, evidence-informed insights that strengthen leadership capability, team performance, and decision-making in high-stakes clinical environments, complementing JCA’s mission to translate innovation into everyday practice.
I serve as Chief of Anesthesiology, Rescue- & Pain Medicine at HOCH Health Ostschweiz, leading a multidisciplinary department across multiple sites. My role combines clinical excellence with system-level leadership—strengthening patient safety, perioperative quality, and integrated care while guiding teams through transformation, digital modernization, and academic development. I am particularly committed to developing people: supporting young CRNAs and physicians clinically, scientifically, and in their personal and professional growth. Thereby fostering a culture of trust, accountability, and high performance.
ANESTHESIA & ANALGESIA is the "Global Standard in Anesthesiology," and provides the practice-oriented, clinical research you need to keep current and provide optimal care to your patients. Each monthly issue brings you peer reviewed articles on the latest advances in drugs, preoperative preparation, patient monitoring, pain management, pathophysiology, and many other timely topics.
The Journal of Clinical Anesthesia (JCA) addresses all aspects of anesthesia practice, including anesthetic administration, pharmacokinetics, preoperative and postoperative considerations, coexisting disease and other complicating factors, cost issues, and similar concerns anesthesiologists contend with daily. Exceptionally high standards of presentation and accuracy are maintained. The core of the journal is original contributions on subjects relevant to clinical practice, and rigorously peer-reviewed. Highly respected international experts have joined together to form the Editorial Board, sharing their years of experience and clinical expertise. Specialized section editors cover the various subspecialties within the field. To keep your practical clinical skills current, the journal bridges the gap between the laboratory and the clinical practice of anesthesiology and critical care to clarify how new insights can improve daily practice. JCA is affiliated with three societies that make it their official journal: the American Association of Clinical Directors (AACD); the Society for Airway Management (SAM); and the Orthopedic Anesthesia Pain Rehabilitation Society (OAPRS).
