Markus Krienke (1978): Full Professor of Modern Philosophy and Social Ethics at the Faculty of Theology of Lugano and Director of the Rosmini Chair. He also teaches Philosophical Anthropology at the Pontifical Lateran University in Rome and Social Doctrine of the Church at the Theological Faculty in Milan. He is professor at the master’s degree in organizational anthropology at the Pontifical University Antonianum in Rom, visiting professor in Political Science at the University of Messina and is part of the master’s degree in Ethics of Peace, Rights and Protection of the Person in productive educational and economic contexts at the University of Bari. After obtaining his Doctorate and Habilitation at the University of Munich (2003-2009), he achieved a Master’s Degree in Philosophy at the University of Trento in 2011, and in the same year the Italian Scientific Habilitations for Theoretical Philosophy and Moral Philosophy. He is a member of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts and of the Italian Scientific Committee of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, as well as a Senior Fellow of the Tocqueville-Acton Centre. He is on the scientific committee of academic journals and yearbooks (Anthropologica, Rivista Rosminiana di filosofia e di cultura, La Società) as well as of the Sciacca Foundation in Genoa. He is also regional vice-president of the Christian Union of Entrepreneurs and Managers (UCID) in Lombardy and a founding member of the Christian Union of Entrepreneurs of Ticino (UCIT). He is a member of the committee of the Osservatore Democratico in Massagno (Lugano), of the scientific committee of the Fondazione della Svizzera italiana per l’Aiuto, il Sostegno e la Protezione dell’Infanzia (ASPI), and of the Accademia di Studi Luterani in Italia (ASLI). He collaborates with the newspaper L’Osservatore (Mendrisio), the Corriere del Ticino, Radiotelevisione svizzera (RSI), Teleticino and other journalistic institutions. In his studies he deals with the thought of Antonio Rosmini, metaphysics in modern times, political philosophy and human rights, ethical issues in the economy, Europe, and lately with the challenges arising from Artificial Intelligence and trans- and post-humanism.
