Product and design leader with 20+ years’ experience building customer-centred digital products, scaling multidisciplinary teams and helping organisations turn user insight into measurable business impact. I’ve led design, research, CRO and product functions across fintech, travel, SaaS, healthcare and public services. From scaling UX capability at Sky Betting & Gaming, to leading product, UX and design at OneFile, to shaping large-scale digital transformation programmes in the UK, New Zealand and Australia. I’m passionate about building environments where design, product and engineering work closely together to solve meaningful problems, improve customer experiences and deliver commercial outcomes through evidence-based product thinking, experimentation and strong design craft.
I founded Sapien core to allow me to contract outside of IR35. I am currently working on a user centred product design training product that allows UX, design and product teams to upskill, explore ways of working and learn methodologies, in a safe and playful way.
Created a service blueprint preparing the product for exit beta phase, to GDS standards, to drive self-serve cohort creation. Designed a self-serve journey using NHS design system and GDS standards, allowing suppliers to begin onboarding to NHS APIs removing the need to contact the onboarding team. Mapped out a blueprint for the MESH API team and driving improvement to the current process.
Led an established team of 40 people from UX, visual design and research disciplines. Decided to exit after a company resturucture which changed the role significantly.
Worked with the existing UX, design and product teams unifying them and their approach to product design under the user centred product design banner. I right sized the teams to achieve the business ambitions in product and UX design. Worked with the business to deliver a ‘first of type’ product during C-19 lockdown from initial idea to initial revenue. Expected breakeven in FY1 of live. At time of writing, product sales were on track to exceed this target. this was 26 weeks post MVP launch. Delivered a further 2 new products targeting existing customer stretch and new customer revenue generation.
