About

After 15 years designing RF/audio/video hardware for Digital Set Top boxes (Sat, Cable, Terrestrial, & PVR) and DVD recorders; handling performance and client acceptance testing I moved into Intellectual Property as a technical expert: - Hardware/Software Architecture SoC, signal processing. - Content Coding : 2D Video H.264/H.265, 3D MVC and classical/3D Audio - Patent Assertion / Infringement Analysis - Patent Licensing negotiations with US/Asian Consumer Electronics manufacturers - more than 20 patent talks in US/Tokyo/Taipei - Patent Litigation technical preparation - Patent Portfolio analysis for acquisition Although I am no longer directly in the product development hotseat, I still like the old quote "The only true programming language is solder" so experimenting with blue-sky/over the horizon thinking for future products based around RF processing, SDR, SRD, RFID, IoT using SoC ICs, RF-MMICs, Embedded Linux, and Arduino as a fast, cheap proof of concept test-bed. Still got that child-like urge to know how things work, so give me a screwdriver mostly now a Torx with a security pin and I'll have a look; although unlike a child I'm able to get it back together and it'll still work: well at least most of the time.
