Mark Thurmond is Turbonomic’s Chief Operating Officer, leading global sales and enablement, partner and strategic alliances, customer success and marketing operations. He is responsible for aligning Turbonomic’s global operations to deliver the best possible outcomes for customers and partners along their journey to the hybrid cloud. Thurmond is an accomplished technology industry veteran with IT infrastructure and cloud domain experience. He joins Turbonomic from his most recent position as Executive Vice President at Qlik Technologies, where he led Worldwide Sales and Services. He was instrumental in scaling and expanding the business all the way through its acquisition by Thoma Bravo. Prior to Qlik Technologies, he held global sales and operations leadership positions for multiple business units within Boston-based EMC, including RSA and VCE (all now part of Dell Technologies). Prior to EMC, he held sales leadership positions in Europe and Asia at PTC.
Mark is Executive Vice President, Worldwide Sales and Services responsible for global sales, both direct and through Qlik’s expansive partner network, including alliances with system integrators and technology partners. He also leads consulting services, training and education, and technical support organizations to ensure customer success. Mark is a global tech industry veteran bringing a track record of rapid revenue growth and expansion to Qlik. Prior to joining Qlik, Mark served as Senior Vice President, Global Sales of VCE, an EMC Company focused on accelerating adoption of converged infrastructure and cloud-based computing. Mark has experience in go to market execution for all channels in high growth markets. He previously held positions as SVP Worldwide Sales, RSA, the security division of EMC, and other global sales leadership positions within EMC. Prior to that, he was VP of Sales at PTC helping drive the company’s revenue from $300 million to $1 billion dollars. He holds a bachelor degree in psychology from Hofstra University.
Mark Thurmond is the Senior Vice President, Global Sales of VCE, and is a member of the CEO’s Senior Leadership Team. As SVP, Global Sales, Mark is responsible for all aspects of VCE’s Sales organization from strategy, go-to-market, channels, to executing against the revenue goals of the company. Additionally, Mark leads the critically important effort in collaborating for success across the broader EMC Federation. Prior to joining VCE, he most recently was the Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales for RSA, the Security Division of EMC, where he was responsible for the division’s go-to-market strategies and execution, and achieving RSA’s revenue goals. Mark has an extensive background and was instrumental to the growth of other key areas of EMC. Specifically, he held numerous executive positions, notably as Vice President of EMC’s Back-up, Recovery and Archiving (BURA) Sales, and Vice President & Co-General Manager of the Centera Business unit where he had responsibility for Worldwide Sales, Channels and ISV relationships. Prior to EMC, he worked for Parametric Technology Corporation (PTC), a leading provider of product life cycle management software solutions. Mark held numerous executive sales management positions throughout the US, Europe and Asia, and helped drive the company’s revenue from $300 million to $1 billion while he was there. Mark has over 18 years of experience in the high tech industry, a proven track record of transforming sales organizations. Mark holds a BA in Psychology from Hofstra University.
