Installed one of the more complex and completely functional financial consolidation systems in North America capable of traditional balance sheet and equity method accounting consolidations in multiple variations including GAAP values, fair values, tax basis values, legal hierarchy, tax hierarchy or management hierarchy using input from multiple ERP systems consolidated in minutes. Industries included real estate of all kinds, railroad transportation, oil and gas, manurfacturing, agriculture, and venture capital.
As CFO for Nutritional Laboratories, Reported to the President and was responsible for all aspects of Finance and Accounting, Treasury, HR, IT, and Risk Management. Was an adviser to the board in strategic growth initiatives. Installed fully automated closed loop financial planning system that, upon adding required input variables, would compute using fixed and variable costs, all departmental budgets, cash flow statements, borrowing base certificates and simulated standard cost revisions while constructing a complete causal factor analysis explaining planned income and revenue changes year over year on one page (e.g. new products, pricing, cost reductions, economics, facility changes, government regulation).
As CFO, was responsible for Accounting, Finance, short and long range planning, raising capital, IT, Risk Management, and Customer Service. Installed one of the countries first paperless call centers in the country per IBM. Used data warehouse to create income statements by market channel and product line. Increase profitability of company by implementing activity based "standard cost" system in conjunction with logarithmic pricing strategy for service parts. Pursued private equity build out and recapitalization of company.
