I am a Masters Degree qualified Chartered Mechanical Engineer and I have been employed within the Oil and Gas and associated industries for over 35 years. I have obtained extensive experience within the Offshore, FPSO, petrochemical and process industries. This experience has ranged from Project Management, conceptual design, detail engineering, construction and commissioning. I have been employed in a variety of senior positions including managing large teams on multi-national projects, resource management, budgetary controls, planning, client presentations and implementing training programs. I am fully conversant with the technical codes, which are applicable to the oil and gas industry. My field experience encompasses both new and existing facilities. This includes Onshore Plants, Module Fabrication Yards, Offshore Platforms and Subsea Developments. Positions held during these construction projects include Hook-up Coordinator, Field Facilities Engineering and Offshore Project Supervisor for additional modules on offshore platforms. I have actively pursued a continuous development program including Managerial, Leadership, Mentoring, Technical, Contract Management, Commercial, Safety and Process Safety Studies.
Employed as Discipline Manager and Technical Authority for the Piping Division for a team of engineers and designers. Duties include undertaking review of ongoing projects to ensure they are delivered in accordance with company’s and clients standards. Additional roles and responsibilities include:- ➢ Nominated Piping Technical Authority, evaluating and approving all technical queries ➢ Company's representative for all technical communications with Independent Verification Body ➢ Mentoring and overseeing staff development throughout their career
Managing the Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) Projects within the Central North Sea (CNS) Division of ConocoPhillips. This consists of several offshore assets and sub-sea developments with projects ranging from additional well slots, compression and separation evaluation, sub-sea extensions, additional accommodation and an extensive drilling program. I commenced my employment in St John’s Canada at the FEED phase of the White Rose Project and was responsible for the engineering procedures and specifications, developing the FEED into Detail Engineering and managing a large engineering team. After completing my assignment on the White Rose contract, I returned to Aberdeen to initially assist with the newly awarded BG contract as Lead Facilities Engineer. This project consisted of a major expansion to an existing Ethylene Plant and I was involved with the conceptual design for this project in 1998 with Stone & Webster. I returned to their head office for a short period prior to my transfer to Shell Moerdijk site as Facilities Engineer. I managed a team of field and commissioning engineers and was the focal point for all facility related issues. BP Amoco BDO Lima I was responsible for the piping design of the reactor and the main process units. However, as the project progressed into detail engineering and manpower increased I became engineering coordinator, liaising directly with the overseas client on a daily basis. I was also responsible for the resource management of the piping engineering team and became involved in the planning of the engineering phase of the project. ➢ Project Engineering Coordinator ➢ Project Planning
