As part of my University course I have taken a year out in industry working as a photography assistant at Hylton Photography (http://www.hyltonphotography.co.uk). My main roles were to support the photographer (Simon Murray), setup lighting and camera equipment, help with set layouts and generally anything that needed doing. The experience I have gained working with a professional photographer has been invaluable and has provided me with more confidence in pushing for a full time career in photography.
Working for Something4 Ltd I was responsible for all web site designs both internal and external, advertising and marketing, developing internal and external websites (using asp, asp.NET, MSSQL, MySql). The client base was purely e-commerce websites, where I would discuss requirements with the clients, create concept designs and convert to XHTML/CSS, continually update the manager on progress and converse with the IT department for any specific technical requirements.
WorldPay are one of the largest online payment service providers. Within the company an e-commerce web system was developed call ClickandBuild. My main responsibilites involved building and desiging websites using the ClickandBuild admin system, with a big emphasis on customising the sites by developing new templates. I was also responsible for supporting existing clients, and discussing requirements with new clients. I also provided additional web design to the main WorldPay design department on a number of projects. I have been responsible for some large clients including Jaguar, Land Rover, The Register, Comic Relief and The Natural History Museum.
