My role at Globalnet Solutions Australia as Senior Network Engineer, Security & Wireless is to design, install and configure number of Vendors. I was promoted into Head Office to manage more of the company clients. Education, Non-Profit and Corporate client’s. I provide Level 2/3 support to technical staff on site. I manage all the Cisco equipment, Routers, Switches, Wireless controllers, AP and VoIP system at client’s sites. I also manage their VMware infrastructure, Hyper-V, Exchange 2010, 2013 and 2016, Windows 2008 and 2012 R2 servers. I configure the following equipment Cisco 2960, 3750x, 3750 in a stack, 4500 switches on client’s site. Create VLAN, Port Channels, Trunk Ports and QoS on switches. Configure HP and Dell switches as well. I also manage our client’s wireless infrastructure they have like Cisco, Aruba, Aerohive, Meru and few others. Setup and configure the following wireless controllers for clients Cisco 5508 and 5520. Setup Radius authentication for the SSID either via Microsoft NPS or Cisco ISE. Monitor and manage the wireless infrastructure and Cisco switches via Cisco Prime at some of the site that have them. Number of clients have VMware ESXi host running Windows or Linux servers on them. Some of the clients have Hyper-V. My duties are manage to VMware and Hyper-V infrastructure they have. Our clients have been 20 to 100 VM running on 3 to 6 host’s onsite. Most of clients have Dell PowerEdge server and Dell EqualLogic SAN that they run the host on. Most of the clients run Veeam backup software to backup there VM servers. As part of monthly maintenance I have restore a file or full VM. Most of our clients have Windows 2008 R2 and Windows 2012 R2. I installed new servers for them from a Windows 2012 R2 template that I have setup.Install new roles onto the server weather it’s going to be another DC, Print Server, SQL Server, Web Server or NPS Server for the client.Create powershell scripts to new students into AD. Create a script file to add them into contacts on the Exchange server. Firewall like WatchGuard, Cyberoam, Barracuda, SmoothWall and Cloud base from supplier like Tesserent.
The school has 3500 students and 500 staff. I manager Cisco Network and VMware infrastructure. I tasks are to make sure that all 52 cisco switches and 3 core routers are up and running. I manage over 500 Cisco Access Point from 3 x 5508 Series Wireless Controllers across the 3 Campus. I manage our VoIP system creating new users on the system. Make sure that our phone list is up to date with new staff and staff leaving. Making that our AD sync with CUCM and that correct number are synced to the Auto Attendant Console. We have 52 server at are in our vCenter that manage. That includes our DC controller, Exchange 2013 server, File Servers, Print Servers, Imaging Servers and WSUS server as well. Make sure that backups are completed every night. We use Veeam software that backups up our VM infrastructure.
