I’m a highly experienced Group CFO/MD with over 18 years of experience, working for businesses in both the private and public sectors with budgets up to €250m. I am client focused and gain detailed understanding of customer needs and ensure commercial decisions are made to fulfil these requirements. Recently I have been instrumental in establishing Seabox Energy (energy efficient heating products) in Ireland, building up the organisational structure, implementing new finance processes and procedures and devising new organisational and product strategies to drive revenues
Sea Box Holdings is an Irish subsidiary of Sea Box Inc. which specializes in the design, custom modification and manufacturing of ISO shipping and storage containers, refrigerated containers, containerized shelters, modular building systems, and related parts and accessories for purchase or lease. Duties and Responsibilities: • Overall ownership of the finance function including; Accounts, financial reporting, treasury, FP&A, cost accounting, transactions, audit and compliance. • Treasury, cash and currency management – oversee all Treasury activity including Capex projects etc. • Compliance – Implement and maintain robust internal compliance and controls. • Audit – Maintain relationships with external audit • R&D / grants applications – Maintain relationships with external grant providers such as enterprise Ireland. Seek out opportunities to avail of further funding • Taxation (domestic and international) – be up to date on international taxation requirements and advise on best practice • Provide leadership and expertise on technical accounting situations • Commercial accounting – Leading the Commercial Finance team • Provide leadership, direction and management to your team • FP&A – Drive and operate agile and effective planning, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management processes, company performance and results • Strategy – Provide strategic recommendations to the MD, the board and members of the senior leadership team • Corporate Finance – Assisting the SLT with transactions and M&A activity such as modelling and investor relations • External Relations – Build robust relationships with banks, investors and capital partners • Fundraising – Assist and advise any fundraising activity should it be required
Lead, motivate and develop staff in the Finance Department to ensure the Department contributes effectively and efficiently to the ETB’s goals and strategy in consultation and co-operation with the relevant Director (s) and / or other CETB Management team members as appropriate. Foster and maintain excellent professional working relationships with all staff in the department, ensuring effective delegation and support. Advise on/promote/organise/participate in, as appropriate, staff development programmes Assume responsibility for performance management within the Finance Department, to support and encourage high performance and addressing underperformance in line with best practice and legislation Collaborate with the relevant Director(s) to undertake a review of department skills/expertise Assist/advise the CETB Management Team members in the development and maintenance of an overall financial control environment Develop, implement, evaluate and update procedures and systems for the operation and functioning of the department; Contribute to the development and implementation of appropriate management information systems. Contribute to the development of organisational strategy and policy development in conjunction with members of the Senior Management Team. Report and provide information on the services and operation of the finance function as required from time to time. Maintain a strong organisation structures within the Finance department with clearly defined roles and responsibility among the various categories of staff, in line with staff skills and talents. Ensure the proper control, management and use of public funds through the implementation of good policy and practice Participate in and support development and use of I. T. systems. A capacity to appreciate the potential of I. T. to enhance record-keeping and quality delivery of services is essential.
