Over thirteen years’ experience in maritime leadership roles, specializing in operations, engineering, strategic planning, team management, delivery, safety and offshore crisis management.
As part of the Njord Offshore Ltd Management Team, my role is to be the subject matter expert on marine operational and safety matters, oversee the strategic management, planning and delivery of marine assets, including fleet maintenance and over haul programs, managing a multimillion pound budget and negotiations with contractors and maintaining key performance measurements for clients. Further responsibilities include lead on Continuous Improvement (CI), client liaison, vessel chartering, shore side liaison, crisis management (DPA), technical management, human resources including employee rosters, appraisal, recruitment, managing crew training and drills, HSE inspection and investigations, reporting and measurement systems. Njord Offshore was founded in 2012, expanding to be a leading operators of Crew Transfer vessels in the offshore wind industry with over 4,250 offshore deployment days in 2017. The company employs over 140 seafarers of various nationalities and experience on over 17 vessels 24 hours a day across Northern Europe and UK waters.
80ft private sailing yacht Responsibilities included: • Full time leadership of 25 crew members. Management of £1m annual budget. Maintenance of 5* hotel standards at all times both in service levels and maintenance. Constant requirement to be agile in case of owners requesting access and transportation at short notice. • Completion of 60,000 nautical miles, including transatlantic crossings – passage planning, logging requirements, weather routing, safely assessments and teamwork. • Day-to-day maintenance of engine, electronics, navigation systems, safety equipment and all of the vessels systems. • Project management of yacht refits in USA, France, Italy and UK. • Legal, regulatory and political administration to ensure entry into different jurisdictions including the UK, Ireland, France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Greece, Croatia, Montenegro, the Caribbean and the USA.
Responsibilities included: • Rising within two years from entry level to Captain at the age of 24 – unheard of within the industry. • Full management of three vessels valued at approximately €15m. • Managing and negotiating across multinational owners’ requirements whilst also undertaking budgeting, crew management, safety and maintenance. • Charter of yacht at short notice; hiring crew, provisioning and delivery of yacht. • Ensuring guest services were kept at the highest standards.
