I’m a broadcast engineering professional with over 25 years of experience delivering technical solutions across DVB systems, IP-based infrastructure, SNMP monitoring, and studio operations. Since graduating in 1997, I’ve built a career around solving complex engineering challenges — from designing and deploying DVB coding & multiplexing platforms to integrating monitoring and control systems for some of the UK’s largest broadcasters. Contracting since 2008, I’ve worked with leading organisations including the BBC, Babcock, Atos, and Eviden — consistently delivering high-impact broadcast technology projects. My roles have evolved from hands-on engineering into technical project management, where I now deliver end-to-end infrastructure builds, studio fit-outs, and systems integrations. Recent highlights include the technical build of the BBC’s Central Square HQ in Cardiff, managing heavily automated studio systems (SMPTE 2110, Shotoku robotics, VizRT, Mosart), and delivering critical DVB platform upgrades for BBC distribution. I bring a hybrid of technical depth and project leadership, bridging engineering teams and stakeholders to deliver complex systems on time and to spec.

Managing technical build within the TV studios strand. The new broadcast centre in Cardiff is one of the BBC's most ambitious projects to date. The back bone of the building is IP (Internet Protocol - SMPTE2110). My Focus was on the two heavily automated news studios. Integration of Shotoku robotics, Stype RedSpy tracking & VizRT graphics. Integration of BNCS to all gallery systems to give maximum flexibility (Floor / Gallery switching). Mosart control of Shotko, VizRT, Calrec audio mixer, Kahuna vision mixer & ETC lighting desk.
