Primary role as a Standard Plant Technician is to solve various field site issues and be responsible for the general maintenance and production at the site. The plant is located on a customer site and as the only site technician I must be able to produce results with no/minimal supervision. I am the primary technician (and only technician on site) for this plant and I assist with a number of other plants within 2 states (Utah & Idaho). I am required to maintain daily/weekly routine maintenance as well as make decisions which require coordination of interrelated tasks. I am responsible for developing conceptual solutions to moderately difficult, non-routine issues/problems. I respond to emergency repair concerns around the clock for this plant location. Operate / Maintain Air Separation and Cryogenic Plants Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair all on site equipment/machinery with no/minimal supervision to minimize or eliminate downtime. General plant maintenance (Oil changes, Grease motors, Valves, Tuning etc..) Take monthly readings (ex.: Plant Vibration Readings) Repair/Diagnose electrical equipment up to 600v PLC, SLC experience. Calibrate transmitters, analyzers, pressure switches, etc. using Fluke 754 Plant financial billing (monthly reporting). Ordering of spare parts and all supplies needed for plant operations while maintaining company budget for plant. Processing work orders using EAM system. Plan/ manage major plant outages including setup and scheduling of all outside contractors (when required). Coordinate with customer to plan maintenance outages. Read plant P&ID's and SWD's to help diagnose and repair issues. Maintain good customer relationship and respond to customer concerns/problems. Routinely work with compressors, automatic valves, electrical systems, and pneumatics & hydraulics systems. Experience with: Instrumentation (General & Industrial)
• Corrosion Technician II: Perform corrosion inhibitor efficacy studies used for corrosion mitigation and failure analysis. Work with a team of materials and corrosion specialists on engineering, metallurgical analysis, failure analysis and applied research projects for client companies in the petroleum, petrochemical, transportation, and aerospace industries. • Work with flow pumps and flow meters, transducers, valves, pressurized gases (including H2S), loading of H2S liquid, acids, chemicals, and fittings. Conduct tests on materials and components, involved in corrosive environments- using automation, temperature, pressure and/or mechanical loading. Designing and assembling of test apparatus, photographing, logging, mount and polishing of test samples. Prepare etchants and etch metal samples to determine grain structure, grain orientation, grain size, and grain flow. Responsible for setup and running of complete projects to provide engineers with results. Originate and design/build test fixture and components required to perform singular corrosion analyses pre client specification. Maintenance and repair of all equipment. Responsible for making sure all measurement devices are operational. Experience with working with scrubbers and separators, as well as collecting liquids for sampling. Electrical knowledge including AC, DC and electrochemical theory. Use and proficient with a range of laboratory equipment: hardness testers, ovens, metallographic equipment, power equipment (saws, sanding equipment, polishing equipment), autoclaves, varies microscopes, balances, blast media testing equipment. Rockwell hardness tests, tensile tests (C Rings, weight loss on coupons, ect.), conductivity tests, and other material property tests.
Perform corrosion inhibitor efficacy studies using a customized Flow Loop apparatus. Perform routine assays per ASTM methods. Transact corrosion testing using Rotating Cylinder Electrode (RCE). Clean and maintain mechanics essential to proper performance of the testing equipment. Compile test results for interpretation thru Gamry software. Analyze and plot data using Microsoft Excel. Work with flow pumps and meters, pressurized gases, acids, chemicals, and fittings.
