I received my Master of Engineering degree in Telecommunications and Master of Science in Fundamental Physics respectively in 2001 and 1999. I first joined Orange Labs in late 2001, where I studied line design and transmission equipment matters for submarine networks. In 2008 I moved to the operational side, in a team in charge of systems deployments and upgrades. I chaired Technical Working Groups (TWG) as well as Procurement Groups (PG) for Europe-Asia cables. In January 2015, I joined the "Submarine Network Evolution" team as project manager and I chaired both the Assignment & Routing group and the Interim PG of SMW-5 Cable System. In 2016 I had the privilege to chair the Paper Committee for SubOptic 2016 conference. I moved to a different department in 2015 for taking care of Orange affiliates in Africa and providing support for their international capacities/connectivity.
Currently working on a tech/eco case-of-study for the governement of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania. Target : deploying a terrestrial long-haul system for offering the country a better access to digital services. • Provide technical/commercial support/expertise to OMEA op co's (ex. DRC, Niger, Botswana, Burkina, Conakry Guinea, Sierra Leone and others) • Management of international capacity/connectivity covers the following topics: - IP traffic protection and prioritization rules - Caching (ex. transparent, GGC, FNA) - Traffic profile analysis (circuits identification, utilization rate, QoS, forecasts) - End-to-end bandwidth cost optimization and CAPEX/OPEX estimations - DPI
• Chair Interim Procurement Groups (SMW-5, LION-3), Investment & Agreement SubCommitee (SMW-5) and negotiate with the submarine system vendors on both technical and commercial fronts • Chair Technical Working Groups made of international experts on large-scale systems (SMW-4, IMW), from system design until equipment production and system acceptance • Provide technical expertise on many different projects and regions (West Africa, Transatlantic, Caribbean, Middle East and Asia) • Defend Orange interests and strategy among consortiums of Telco’s • Represent the system owner’s in “settlement meetings” with the vendors
• Conduct analytical studies and simulations on 10G WDM long-haul optical undersea systems • Elaborate rules of thumb for undersea systems in cooperation with laboratory experts • Participate to design reviews, technology demonstrations, product design acceptance meetings and factory acceptance tests
