About

I help healthcare organisations deliver complex digital transformation by combining strategic consulting with hands on technical leadership. With over 20 years in healthcare technology, I work across architecture, infrastructure, EPR programmes, cyber resilience, and major transformation initiatives, supporting organisations not just to define strategy, but to execute it successfully. My experience spans strategic advisory, enterprise and solution architecture, programme delivery, infrastructure modernisation, cloud, service resilience, and large scale healthcare technology change. I am as comfortable working with senior stakeholders on direction and decision making as I am rolling my sleeves up to lead technical workstreams, solve delivery challenges, and help complex programmes move forward. Throughout my career, I have helped healthcare organisations solve difficult technology challenges in a way that is practical, scalable, and aligned to operational need. I have led major programmes, supported complex transformation initiatives, and strengthened digital foundations to enable safer, more resilient, and sustainable services. I am particularly interested in the role that emerging technologies such as AI, machine learning, smart devices, and wearables can play in the future of healthcare. At the same time, I believe successful transformation depends on getting the fundamentals right, strong architecture, resilient infrastructure, clear governance, and disciplined delivery. What drives me is the opportunity to make a real difference. I enjoy helping healthcare providers navigate complexity, reduce risk, and turn ambition into meaningful outcomes for patients, staff, and the wider organisation.

Building Anura Health to bring fresh energy, deep NHS experience, and delivery focus into healthcare technology. Anura delivers technical advisory, enterprise architecture, cloud, cyber security, infrastructure modernisation, national programme support, technical procurement, and programme recovery for NHS organisations. We get involved where things are complex, urgent, or need people who can bring clarity, pace, and control. That includes consultancy assignments, and major programmes where strong technical leadership and practical delivery experience really matter. Through Anura, I work directly with NHS CIOs, CTOs, programme teams, and digital leaders to cut through noise, solve difficult problems, recover projects, and turn good ideas into deliverable plans. After 25 years in healthcare technology, I still enjoy getting into the detail, building strong teams, challenging the way things have always been done, and helping NHS organisations deliver technology that actually works for staff, patients, and services.

At SmartCo Future Health, I led the development of consulting, technology, and service offerings focused on helping healthcare organisations navigate complex digital transformation. My role brought together strategic advisory, technical leadership, client engagement, and service development, with a particular focus on NHS and health sector priorities. I was accountable for aspects of some of our clients’ major EPR programmes, providing leadership across complex digital and technical workstreams to help ensure successful delivery. This included working across digital transformation, enterprise architecture, infrastructure strategy, cyber resilience, and major programme support, with a strong focus on aligning technology decisions to operational needs and long term organisational goals. Alongside client delivery responsibilities, I played a key role in building the technology services practice, helping define the capabilities, services, and leadership needed to create a strong and credible offer for healthcare organisations. This included strengthening the link between strategic advisory and practical delivery, ensuring the business could support clients not just with direction, but with meaningful execution. My focus was on building trusted, outcome led services that helped healthcare organisations modernise technology, strengthen resilience, and create the foundations for sustainable transformation.

Led technical architecture and delivery oversight for the Nova Programme, a first of type Oracle Health implementation across MSEFT and EPUT. As EPR Technical Architect for MSEFT and EPUT’s Nova EPR Programme, I provided technical leadership and architectural oversight across a highly complex transformation spanning acute, mental health, and community services. Working across two trusts, I helped shape and deliver one of the most ambitious Oracle Health programmes of its kind. My role spanned stakeholder engagement, current state analysis, technical planning, risk identification, architecture design, and implementation support. I worked closely with programme leaders, technical teams, operational stakeholders, and supplier partners to ensure the solution aligned to organisational needs and that the technical foundations were in place to support successful delivery. A major part of the role involved supporting the deployment of Oracle Cloud capabilities for both the EPR and data platform, helping local teams navigate complex design decisions, resolve issues, and plan proactively for dependencies, risks, and delivery challenges. I am driven by the opportunity to use architecture and technology to support better care, stronger resilience, and long term digital transformation across the NHS.

Healthcare technology leader focused on transforming NHS digital services through architecture, infrastructure, and delivery As founder of Optara, I worked alongside a wide range of NHS trusts and public sector organisations to deliver complex digital and infrastructure change. My work covered solution architecture, enterprise architecture, cloud and hosting strategy, cybersecurity, infrastructure modernisation, service resilience, technical assurance, and large scale transformation programmes.
