If there’s something these times have reinforced for me, it’s the power of living in a globally connected economy. Our environment is constantly changing, and the credit analysis and research we do at Fitch affects our issuers and institutional investors that deal with these economic complexities across the world. I keep this top of mind as Global Head of Financial Institutions for Fitch Ratings. I translate Fitch’s broader vision into strategy for our Financial Institutions team. This requires thinking strategically, beyond just our own area. Fitch Group is a global leader with diverse experience and operations in more than 30 countries to draw on for the benefit of investors. In my role, I partner with our investor development, credit policy, operations and business relationship teams to ensure that our platform is solid across the organization. Strategy is the start, but it must be a foundation for action. That means setting both tangible goals and a plan to achieve them. To best serve my teams as a leader in these changing times, I work to: • Drive change: Success requires a vision for where we need to go and how we get there. Thought leading research and opinion are key. • Think strategically: What are our objectives, risks and opportunities? And how do we move forward? • Collaborate: We only succeed if we work together—and I’m grateful to be at a place that values this so highly. Fitch’s collaborative culture is key. I’m proud to chair our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion council, where we hold ourselves and the organization accountable for encouraging diverse perspectives, increasing representation and developing under-represented talent, to name a few. Listening to my own voice is also important to me and finding my life balance. I’m learning to live with ambiguity. With Fitch, I’ve been able to live and work in different cultures and countries. I’ve also been able to prioritize family and spend time on small things that help me decompress: cooking, running, even taking up piano again.
