About

Enthusiastic researcher and lecturer with interest in solving real-life problems by AI and Operations Research techniques, joint senior research position with KLM and President of the Dutch OR Society NGB. As researcher, I am experienced in collaboration with industry. I am at a joint senior position with KLM within the KickstartAI program. My main research applications areas are public transportation, mobility and smart energy system. I am working on Operations Research within a Computer Science department, which is unique for the Netherlands and gives me a good position for experimental research and close connections to CS expertise on data and efficient computation. I am teaching the course Optimization for Sustainability in the master program Computing Science. As President of the Dutch OR Society NGB and executive board member of the Dutch Network for the Mathematics of Operations Research LNMB, I am very active in the national OR community e.g. by conference organization.
