Netherlands
Enthusiastic researcher and lecturer with interest in solving real-life problems by AI and Operations Research techniques, joint senior research position with KLM and President of the Dutch OR Society NGB. As researcher, I am experienced in collaboration with industry. I am at a joint senior position with KLM within the KickstartAI program. My main research applications areas are public transportation, mobility and smart energy system. I am working on Operations Research within a Computer Science department, which is unique for the Netherlands and gives me a good position for experimental research and close connections to CS expertise on data and efficient computation. I am teaching the course Optimization for Sustainability in the master program Computing Science. As President of the Dutch OR Society NGB and executive board member of the Dutch Network for the Mathematics of Operations Research LNMB, I am very active in the national OR community e.g. by conference organization.
Research on optimization algorithms for mobililty and energy systems. Coodination master program Computing Science. Teaching courses in optimization and simulation.
Researcher on algorithms for planning and scheduling, with a focus on computational sustainability. Working on planning in mobility, especially public transportation on future energy systems. Teaching master courses on combinatorial optimization and discrete-event simulation (in the Master Computing Science) and Advanced Linear Programming (Mastermath). I worked on research projects concerning modelling, optimization and simulation of Air Traffic Management and Electronic Road Pricing (Rekeningrijden).
Research on integer linear programming and decomposition methods.
PhD on integer linear programming for scheduling
