Marjan van Aubel is leading solar design. Through product innovations, light installations, and solar artwork, her studio designs for a positive future. Working on a new narrative by combining the fields of sustainability, design and technology, and promoting the development of solar in general. Van Aubel's most notable works are Sunne, Ra and Current Table. Larger immersive installations were realised for Design Week Milan 2024, ICA Design Miami 2023, Dutch Design Week 2022, the Solar Biennial 2022, and World Expo Dubai 2021. Her work is part of permanent collections of museums such as MoMA New York, the V&A London, Stedelijk Museum and Boijmans van Beuningen in the Netherlands. The Studio collaborated with global brands such as Lexus, COS, Timberland and Swarovski with the aim of accelerating the global energy transition to solar. She is co-founder of The Solar Movement and Solar Biennale and is author of the book Solar Futures: How to design a Post-Fossil World with the Sun.

The studio is creating lasting change through solar design, integrating solar power seamlessly into our environments such as in buildings and objects. With the goal to make solar power more accessible for everyone. Most notable works are Sunne, Current Table, Power Plant and the roof of the Dutch Pavilion at the World Expo 2020 in Dubai.
