Part time, I am an editorial staff member and proofreader for the film quarterly, Z filmtidsskrift, published by the Norwegian Federation of Film Societies. I also write on the subject of film on a freelance basis but mostly for the mentioned Z Film Quarterly and their web edition znett.com. I am a student at the Master’s Programme in Film and Media Studies at The Norwegian University of Science and Technology, NTNU, dealing with film censorship and ideology, mainly The Production Code in the US as expressed in the adaptation of crime fiction in the film noir era. I want to be a novelist and possibly make some feature films. I am also concerned about mental health issues especially in giving children and young people a safe environment to grow up in. This is also what my main message is to the world. In a way I consider myself a self employed artist to be, but in addition I would like to help young people discover their strength and abilities and help people in general to gain self confidence, teach self care.
My work consists mainly of being a proofreader mostly in Norwegian (bokmål) my mother tongue and also in New Norse (nynorsk) as I am quite skilled with our second language in Norway as well. I both speak and write English nicely and I am familiar with film scholarly terms in both my own language as well as that of the British and the Americans. In addition, I have been editing photographs in Adobe Photoshop, iPhoto and other web based programs before using them on our webpages. Moreover, I have been obtaining photographs from film distributors and so forth a couple of times. Then, I have learned to manage WordPress adding texts and images for our pages on the net. I have not worked directly with editorial decisions concerning the content of each edition of our quarterly as printed on paper. However, I have written some articles and done interviews for the quarterly through the years. Not to forget that I have written selected texts for the web based version of Z Film Quarterly (Z filmtidsskrift).
So far, I have briefly worked as a freelance proofreader for the film production company Sant & usant. Besides my engagement for Z Film Quarterly and The Norwegian Federation of Film Societies as described.
I started writing presentations for programme catalogues for Oslo Films from the South Festival and Oslo International Film festival, and joined the film programme Nova Noir at Radio Nova before I got articles on the printed pages of the periodical Syn&segn in 2000, then Film&kino, and later Z Film Quarterly the same year. I have also been published in the newspaper Klassekampen and, in collaboration with Z Film Quarterly, the web edition of Morgenbladet. Briefly, I have written for the web magazines Montages and Cinema. I also wrote shorter reviews for Film&kino in 2001. I was a hired film critic and journalist for the monthly magazine planB from January 2001 until the end of the summer 2002. I have a project for a biography in Norwegian on a famous screen legend for what will be the mentioned legend’s birthday anniversary in 2026. My works have been cited or used as source reference by students and scholars in Oslo and Trondheim. For the third number of Z Film Querterly in 2021 I wrote reviews of several Norwegian short films. The spring of 2023, I also wrote reviews of eight Norwegian short films for the printed edition of Z. This spring I was again asked to write reviews of short films for the printed edition of Z Film Quarterly.
My first important acting role was as Puck in "A Midsummer Night’s Dream" at age 13 at The Rudolf Steiner School in Oslo. At the time I took classes in classical ballet with Eva HaaIke and jazz dance with Egon Weng. Then I went to Barne- og ungdomsteatret in Oslo, mainly under the guidance of Aagot Støkken. Landing the role as Oswald Alving in an updated version of Henrik Ibsen’s "Ghosts" was a dream come true. I connected very much with the part and felt it had possibilities similar to James Dean’s portrayal of Cal Trask in "East of Eden." The director Gaute Næsheim was looking for "a big star with a vulnerable child within. A boy six feet tall who could kill a chair with a poem." I happened to take singing lessons with jazz artist Lisa Dillan this period and was the number one candidate for the role as the painter turned crooner and pop artist, in two separate auditions for the director and the musicians respectively. It was definitively the millennial peak for me. Subsequently I portrayed Count Juan de Bordavela in "Fernando Krapp Wrote Me This Letter" at the hip Black Box. I studied with British actor Andrew Raymond Barnes and was almost accepted at The Academy of Live and Recorded Arts (ALRA) in England, placed on a waiting list, provided a scholarship would have been granted the school. I have acted for film and television, notably in "Underholdningsavdelingen" and "Fritt Fram" for NRK, some episodes of "Hotel Cæsar" for TV2, and I have done commercials for directors such as Morten Tyldum and Roar Uthaug. I am deeply inspired by Method actors such as Marlon Brando and James Dean and I am highly impressed by the versatility of Laurence Olivier and I admire the range of expressions of Leonardo DiCaprio. I draw most of my learning from "An Actor Prepares" by Konstantin Stanislavski from 1936.

I finished the novel "Speilvendt" which means "Mirror Image" in English, in 2007 and tried to have it published in Norway. Some publishers described it as very interesting, although not the type of book they would be responsible for publishing. A friend and consultant at a publishing house supported me in making the story into a screenplay. This more visually cinematic novel is now on 164 pages. I have also written a script for a short film titled "Reisefølge" in Norwegian, and "Stranger on a Journey" in English, which I now plan to make into a short feature film after I have completed my studies at NTNU and writing my new novel which has a secret title.
