I am a first year LSE undergraduate studying Philosophy & Economics
During my spring week at Fenchurch Advisory, I gained hands-on exposure to investment banking focusing on Financial Institutions Group (FIG) M&A advisory. Throughout the week, I developed a strong understanding of Asset Management (AM) profiles, including AUM figures, and built skills in wealth management company analysis. A standout achievement of the week was successfully completing a 3 statement financial model, which significantly strengthened my financial modelling skills. This involved building and linking an income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statement. I also created a detailed project company profile, which included a company overview, group structure, and group financials, alongside building AUM charts in Excel and constructing a table of recent investments. These tasks complemented my modelling work and gave me a well-rounded view of the financial analysis process within FIG M&A advisory. Overall, it was an incredibly enriching week that gave me genuine, practical insight into FIG M&A advisory at a leading boutique investment bank.
I’m delighted to announce I’ve successfully completed the Women in Business programme with PwC UK UK in Audit. I was exposed to key aspects of the audit process, including attending a file review meeting where I learned how auditors assess misstatements against materiality and apply professional judgement. I also worked on reviewing and editing client deliverables, which highlighted the importance of accuracy and attention to detail. Through team walkthroughs, I developed my understanding of internal controls, planning and interim procedures, and the different phases of a year-end audit. I also explored risk through SIRA discussions, gaining insight into how auditors identify and respond to risks within financial statements. Overall, this experience strengthened my commercial awareness and attention to detail, and I look forward to applying these skills in my future career.
Attended Houlihan Lokey’s Women in Banking (M&A) Insight Day, where I gained a comprehensive overview of the firm and the M&A process through an interactive transaction walkthrough. The experience strengthened my analytical and commercial awareness, particularly in understanding how deals are structured and evaluated. Through the technical skills session and banker panel, I developed my financial literacy, attention to detail, and ability to think critically under pressure. I also enhanced my communication and networking skills by engaging with professionals and peers, gaining valuable insight into how to navigate and succeed in investment banking.
Attended the London Market Group’s Spring into Insurance Insight Day, where I took part in an interactive insurance simulation that developed my understanding of underwriting and risk assessment. Working through real-world scenarios strengthened my analytical thinking, decision-making, and ability to evaluate complex risks under time pressure. The experience, alongside insights from industry professionals, gave me a practical perspective on how the insurance market operates and the key skills required to succeed in the sector.
I worked as a tutor part time at Explore Learning in order to encourage children to be passionate about learning.
