As a group Chief Financial Officer Marios had the overall responsibility of financial affairs of all group companies with various stakeholders (suppliers, clients, shareholders, banks, tax dep’t etc). Mario's responsibilities also expanded to the establishment of proper internal procedures and controls, in order to safeguard the interests of shareholders and ensure that all major risk areas were identified and associated risks were eliminated or minimized at an acceptable level. The business activities of Lordos Group are well diversified. Some of the main group companies are Lordos Beach Hotel (Tourism), Agro L/ca (wholesale), Prinos Farm & Deli (Retail), GDL Trading (HO.RE.CA) and Lordos Properties (Real Estate).
Marios as a Senior Manager at Baker Tilly in South East Europe, was heading the Technical Advisory Services Dep’t of the firm. He was acting as head of the technical committee of Baker Tilly in South East Europe and he was responsible for resolving any IFRS related accounting issues by giving advice and support to Baker Tilly offices in Cyprus, Greece, Romania, Bulgaria and Moldova. He was also responsible for the delivery of IFRS technical seminars to firm's staff, ensuring at all times that they were highly equipped with up-to-date knowledge and skills. Such seminars were also provided to external clients on request.
