I have a multi-disciplinary background (Economics, Environmental Science, Finance, Law) and an over two-decade career in responsible investment, across private and public markets. I am experienced in modeling potential effects of material sustainability risks and opportunities in cashflows across asset classes, and a proven track record designing sustainable investment frameworks that translate research into actionable investment, stewardship and advocacy outcomes. As an economist by training, with a Masters in Environmental Science and Policy, a Law Degree and the CFA designation, I started my career revising Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs) regulations to provide support for foreign direct investments with positive environmental or social impacts. The revised PPPs frameworks were used by the then US OPIC ($60 bn in funds for investment) to expand its operations in Mexico. My experience continued at the UN working on project finance under the Kyoto Protocol's $30 bn carbon market, and at Innovest and RiskMetrics, acquired by MSCI, creating ESG, climate and impact assessment frameworks. I consulted as a Senior Responsible Investment Manager on private markets for APG, where I designed the Zero Deforestation investment strategy for APG’s $700 bn AUM; managed ESG integration for real assets deals for $9.5 bn; and, developed the global SDG investment strategy for the firm's $5 bn Natural Resources Fund. Most recently, I led the ESG Investment Program for Brown Brothers Harriman's $95 bn in AUM.
