Greater Uppsala Metropolitan Area
Marina is interested in analysing dynamic urban phenomena, specifically real-time interactivity of spatial processes in cities. Marina Toger (PhD 2016) specialises in spatial analysis and modelling of urban dynamic processes. Currently she is analysing the spatial distribution of police presence, response rates, and crime in Dallas on a big dataset. Since finishing her doctorate as part of the ComplexCity laboratory at the Faculty of Architecture and Urban Planning, Technion, she participated in a project on analysing spatial clustering, modelling economic activity and feasibility of a new metropolis (Samuel Neaman Institute for National Policy Research). Her PhD focused on urban open-space connectivity, network morphology and dynamics resulting from urban expansion and interaction between urban environment and wildlife. Marina’s methodological expertise combines approaches in geosimulation, GIS, agent-based modelling, and network analyses in a dynamic, multi-scale framework.
