My professional and personal career has been marked by decades of commitment to gender equality. My connection to equality translates into constant visibility, empowerment and activism in favour of women's rights. In my scientific field, I actively participate in events, conferences and forums on gender equality, especially in ocean research. As a result, I believe I have contributed to making the work of women scientists more visible and promoting their presence in decision-making spaces. I have also led mentoring and training programmes. I work to foster alliances between research institutions, the private sector, public administrations and civil society, ensuring that women have a voice and recognition in every process. I have promoted support networks where women share experiences, develop ideas and collaborate on projects for change in ocean science. I also promote quality educational opportunities for girls and young women scientists and work every day for more inclusive, equitable, safe and respectful work environments, where diversity is a fundamental pillar.
