Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain
I am a professor and experienced consultant for study-abroad programs in Barcelona with over a decade spent designing the best programs in the region. I currently provide consulting services and create custom programs for U.S. universities, and have organized visits for trustees, alumni, and prospective students. I partner with study-abroad coordinators in the United States looking to select the best program for their students, and I also advise programs here on curriculum development and hiring. All-in-all, I am uniquely well-versed in the market particularities of study abroad in Barcelona. Equally, I love teaching about the cultural attractions in this wonderful city. After graduating in political science from the Complutense University in Madrid in 1992, I received my doctorate in history from Tufts University (Massachusetts) in 2003. Afterwards, I worked at King’s College, University of London for three years before coming to Barcelona. I continue to teach various courses on Spanish and European history, politics, culture and civilization. Teaching the history of Barcelona is a personal passion of mine, and I have just developed a new course on the move toward independence here in Catalonia. My students enjoy my teaching—reflected by consistently excellent evaluations—and I feel at home in the classroom. To discuss options for your university program, please contact me directly.
