I am a senior strategic communications advisor with over a decade of experience working with postsecondary institutions, governments, and national partners. My background spans governance, public policy, and program delivery, with a strong focus on aligning communications strategies with institutional priorities and public-interest outcomes. I bring deep knowledge of the postsecondary ecosystem, including stakeholder dynamics, funding and policy environments, and the operational realities of colleges and institutes. My work centers on strategic storytelling, advocacy, and stakeholder engagement that strengthen institutional credibility, mobilize partners, and advance national influence. Known for bridging strategy and execution, I support senior leadership in translating complex issues into clear positioning and actionable communications that drive impact.
As Chief Governance Officer and Strategic Advisor to the President, I supported the Board of Directors and senior leadership through a period of significant organizational transition and strategic repositioning. My work focused on strengthening governance practices, enabling effective Board oversight, and aligning decision-making with CICan’s evolving strategic, financial, and public-policy context.
I have collaborated with more than 90 stakeholders to implement an innovative work-integrated learning (WIL) opportunities for healthcare students, leveraging virtual simulation to better prepare them for clinical placements and the workplace. This experience consolidated my skills in project management, strategic communication and stakeholder mobilization, while reinforcing my ability to work in multidisciplinary and innovative environments.
As part of this role, I conceptualized and facilitated a six-week virtual seminar on economic opportunities for young refugees. I was also instrumental in setting up WUSC's office in Kampala, Uganda, including establishing administrative processes and recruiting 19 volunteers. Finally, I was also in charge of international internships with universities. Through these responsibilities, I gained expertise in project management, international coordination and promoting social inclusion in educational and multicultural contexts.
I contributed to the resettlement of over 500 young refugees through the effective management of relationships with 65 universities and colleges across Canada. I worked to strengthen the administrative process of assigning students to their sponsoring institutions, as well as the immigration process with over 80 Canadian post-secondary institutions.
I set up training modules and facilitated a two-day training session to familiarize young refugees being resettled to Canada through the SRP (Student Refugee Program) with Canada and the organizational culture of our post-secondary institutions.
I created and delivered a training of trainers for organisations working with vulnerable populations in Nepal. Themes covered: Definition of leadership, type of leadership, effective communication, creativity and inclusion.
