I am an experienced legal adviser with more than 14 years experience working in the oil and gas industry for one of the leading international EPIC contractors. My primary role is to provide legal advice for mitigation of contractual risks during the commercial and execution phases of Projects. This includes reviewing and commenting on Client draft contracts, handling contractual negotiations with Clients (and Subcontractors), providing advice on interpreting contractual clauses during project execution, preparing various cooperation agreements (consortiums, joint ventures, nominated subcontractor agreements, subcontract agreements etc).
More than 14 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. Worked on and participated in negotiations of more than a hundred Tenders in very diverse environments, from Europe to the Middle East, Asia, Australia and South America. Primary role is to provide legal advice for mitigation of contractual risks during the commercial and execution phases of Projects. This involves reviewing Client provided ITTs, commenting on and preparing qualifications and negotiating Client draft contracts, preparing various cooperation agreements (consortiums, joint ventures, exclusivity agreements with subcontractors) as well as assisting in the performance of the due diligence on selected partners. Duties include also participating in risk review meetings, coordinating the inputs from corporate finance, tax, insurance and anticorruption departments and provide support to the procurement department in negotiating subcontract terms and conditions. Followed tenders from the pre-qualification stage to Contract award. On awarded Projects, participated in the handover of the relevant documentation to the Project team, including identifying and sharing the relevant Contractual risks. Provided advice to the Project team on interpretation of Contractual clauses, preparation of Variation orders and Amendments to the Contracts as well as preparation of Claims. Experience in investigating and procuring legal opinions on various local jurisdictions, either through personal investigation or through outside legal counsel. Experience in managing the Contract management department, mentoring and transferring knowledge to a team of contract advisors within a positive and supportive working environment.
