I have graduated with a Master's degree in Counselling Psychology from the University of Ottawa. Here I was required to complete 3 internships at Montfort Hospital and the University of Ottawa. Throughout the past years, I gain experience working with a wide variety of clients dealing with different issues, including substance abuse, anxiety, depression and am able to utilize different approaches to interventions such as mindfulness, DBT, CBT, and psychodynamics. I have volunteered for a number of organizations in the Ottawa area such as Serenity Renewal for Families, The Children’s Aid Society of Ottawa, and The Global Work & Travel Company in positions related to education and mental health services. I am a skilled and competent communicator in both English and French. I am someone who possesses strong interpersonal skills and performs well in a team environment. I am a highly motivated individual who puts in the required time and thought to execute effectively the tasks at hand. I autonomously take initiative when required and pay a high attention to detail that reflects in the quality of my work. On a personal level I am highly involved in travelling, outdoor activities, and arts. I am passionate about human rights issues and this reflects in my volunteering experience. I find satisfaction in being a contributing member of society who thrives to achieve the betterment of the world we live in. On an individual level I find it rewarding to affect lives in a positive way and to assist clients in reaching their long-term goals.
