I'm a verification and optoelectronics engineer with a PhD in photonics and about nine years of experience across optoelectronic characterization, camera-based sensing, and test automation. My work has spanned AR/VR depth sensing validation at Meta, free-space optical system integration at Thales Alenia Space, micro-LED display characterization at Facebook, and DWDM longhaul linecards validation at Cisco. Across all of it, the common thread has been building test infrastructure that sits at the interface between hardware and software, rigorous enough to actually trust the results.
• Conducted verification of Depth Sensing systems for AR/VR devices, ensuring high-quality performance. • Developed hardware verification software tools using Python, enhancing testing efficiency. • Programmed and utilized collaborative robots for automatic data collection, streamlining processes. • Defined and documented Standard Operating Procedures and data collection campaigns, contributing to operational excellence.
In charge of designing, assembling, integrating and testing optoelectronic systems and subsystems for free space intra satellite telecommunication, including overall planning of the integration activities, sourcing and collaborations with teams, project partners and suppliers. Executing optical performance tests at component and system level at different phases of product developments to verify and validate performance limits. Defining and redacting optical and optoelectronic hardware and software requirements specification to meet project needs. Defining and documenting testing and calibration procedure. Identifying supplier providing space specific hardware needs and coordinated follow up meetings.
Conducted wafer-level characterization of state-of-the-art micro-LED arrays for AR/VR display devices, measuring optical emission uniformity, luminance, and spectral properties. Designed, built, and programmed a remote-controlled precision camera acquisition system for automated LED display image capture — end-to-end from hardware to software. Developed Python scripts for automated image acquisition, device characterization, and high-volume data organization and reporting. Managed hardware vendors for tester upgrades and authored technical documentation to support R&D to production transitions.
Designed executive projects for the realization of new optical trails of the WIND TRE Mobile Back Haul network for traffic enhancement and network congestion mitigation. Defined site provisioning of network units and configurations. Managed executive project from the conception to the realization by follow up of the project steps and coordinating the field operation.
-Performed optical and electronic system tests (thermal, electrical, optical) and specifications validation for new generation DWDM long haul linecards by acquisition, analysis and reporting of performance data. -Coded a test suite in Python able to collect and manage automatically data collection from different board integrated devices and instruments and for different test cases. -Performed provisioning and configuration of testbed networks with CISCO network units to support linecard testing.
