I am a paralegal with over 25 years of experience in commercial real estate transactions, mergers and acquisitions, corporate law and financial services. My specialization is Real Estate practice with concentration in the areas of transactional real estate law, representing institutional, commercial, and developer clientele in connection with financing, acquisition, development, leasing, and disposition of various property types, including office, retail, industrial, and multi-family residential. In addition to my experience as a commercial real estate paralegal, I developed and presented a number of CLE courses related to real estate transactions, UCCs and corporate recordkeeping. I also serve as an adjunct instructor for an ABA-approved Paralegal Certificate Program at Long Island University, Brooklyn Campus.
Coordinate Mentoring Program, match students in paralegal studies, paralegals changing practice areas or paralegals who are new to the community with an experienced practicing NYCPA members who are willing to be a resource and make an affirmative effort to get the newcomer oriented to the legal environment. Review resumes and cover letter and prepare for interviews.
Serve as Chairman of the Membership Committee. Encourages, promotes, and maintains membership in the Association; process and maintain the membership records of the Association; coordinate outreach efforts to gain new members; act as liaison and mentor to filed inquires by new members; organize events/materials in recognition and support of new members; coordinate growth efforts for various membership types for the association and to maximize membership retention for the association; monitor and expand on current NYCPA member benefits and publicize existing benefits to current members and market to potential members.
Responsibilities include maintaining correct and complete records of accounts; serve as legal custodian of all monies, notes, securities and other valuables which may from time to time come into the possession of NYCPA, deposit all funds of NYCPA into a reliable bank or other depository designated by the Executive Board and kept in the name of NYCPA, and furnish, whenever requested by the Executive Board, a statement of financial condition for the NYCPA; serve as a chair of Finance Committee and a member of the Job Bank Committees.
Responsible for keeping members of the Association abreast of current developments in their fields of specialty by offering informative seminars and mini seminars and by collecting and making information available to the membership. Duties include, but not limited to: maintaining an Annual CLE schedule; organizing seminar locations, speakers and meals as well as audio/visual needs; coordinating member mailings and registration response with the Membership committee; foster and maintain contact with New York institutions that offer paralegal programs; serve as an information clearinghouse for students; Inform students about NYCPA’s mentor program and connect student members with possible internship opportunities secured by the association with local firms for their benefit; encourage and educate the NYCPA membership about PACE and PCC; keep current with ongoing national PACE activities; and supervising PACE and PCC scholarship nominations and award presentations.
After completing the previous administrative term as President, assumed the honorary position of Immediate Past President and Executive Board Advisor. As an advisor, assisted in smooth transition and continuity between administrations.
