I am an empathetic Social Service Worker and recent graduate of Seneca College with two years of academic and internship experience focused on serving communities, individuals and families. I am naturally approachable and engage well with clients demonstrating respect and empathy. I am passionate about forming trusting relationships from diverse backgrounds and advocating for clients' best interests. Over the course of my studies, I have developed strong communication and interpersonal skills and enjoy collaboration and teamwork. I have gained comprehensive knowledge of social justice issues and systems affecting marginalized communities. In my internship at York Region Community Housing Partnership and Support Services, I gained experience in developing and delivering resident engagement programs and initiatives to improve residents' well-being. I also gained experience engaging with community organizations to establish partnerships, assist with system navigation, facilitate groups, and establish a strong rapport with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
