Sisters mixer is an initiative that was originally set up in March 2014 to bring together young Muslim women and help them build their self-esteem and increase their confidence whilst still being able to relate and identify with their religion. We hold monthly meetings which also act as a support group. The ladies are free to discuss, advice and vent their past month freely. This has seen many of them blossom into incredible people and work through different parts of their lives. Life is a journey made easier by sharing with like-minded people. Sisters Mixer has been doing charity work on a small scale. We have been approached by individuals and communities needing varying help and we have been able to do so amongst the group and the small network around the organisation. This however has been on an unofficial basis and the impact not as great. We aim to help more people hence wanting to turn our small monthly gathering into a registered Organisation. Our main focus will be Gender based violence within the young Islamic Community.

  • Manager at Walter Claude and Associates

Working as a manager at an architecture firm in Kampala. Roles ranged from employee welfare all the way to client care. The role was fast paced some of the time and needed dedication, selflessness and understanding of both the service providers and the clients. I was faced with heavy work loads and tight deadlines at our peak times.
