I am a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and PhD candidate committed to lifelong learning and translating scientific research and advancements into clinically relevant strategies for human health. Experienced in medical nutrition therapy, nutrition counseling, evidence-based program development, and IRB, grant, and scientific writing.
Served as lead instructor and teaching assistant for large-scale undergraduate and health professional courses including: Nutrition & Health, Macronutrient Metabolism, Eating Behavior & Body Weight Regulation, and Controversial Issues in Clinical Nutrition & Dietetics. Developed and presented evidence-based content on nutrition and human health, translating complex biochemical and molecular nutrition concepts into clinically relevant knowledge, while guiding students in critically evaluating controversial nutrition topics and scientific literature.
Secured grant funding and IRB approval for a research study investigating diet-induced inflammation and eating behaviors related to psychophysiological stress pathways. Recruited and retained participants, managed longitudinal data collection, performed statistical analyses, and translated complex findings to researchers and general audiences. Collaborated with Eugene Applebaum College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences on research projects and trained student investigators in research operations.
Practiced the Nutrition Care Process and collaborated with interdisciplinary care teams to deliver patient-centered medical nutrition therapy and education for chronic disease and co-morbidity management, increasing medical and dietary understanding and compliance. Oversaw food service operations including menu planning in compliance with dietary guidelines, conducted regulatory kitchen audits and delivered in-service staff training to ensure safety and compliance standards.
Led DEW clinic sessions for dietetic students, mentoring them on patient interviewing, communication, and diabetes education for individuals across diverse health literacy levels and life stages.
