Often overlooked as unimportant, the years of volunteerism were an immensely important time for me in skill development, understanding of "how things get done" outside of the corporate world, and personal risk-taking. Volunteering was life-changing not only for me; it gave me the opportunity to change other lives. And I did, in every position I held. I also was raising three daughters at that time. Volunteered extensively within the Conejo Valley Unified School District, serving as: • Parent Faculty Association President – 3 years; • District Advisory Council Vice-Chair, board member – 5 years; • School Site Council Representative – 8 years; • Director, Acacia Elementary School play – 4 years; • Parent Volunteer and Creator/Producer of monthly parent newsletter, Conejo Valley Adult School (CVAS) Parenting Program – 8 years; • Scriptwriter, production and on-air talent, CVAS Parenting Program video
