I assist with a variety of legal tasks, including data entry, identifying original documents, digitizing files, assisting with the file closing process, and organizing mass amounts of files.
As a Tilting Futures intern at Philisa Abafazi Bethu, I aided with a number of projects aimed at advancing the NGO's mission of creating a future where all women in South Africa are free. My primary duties included fundraising efforts, such as writing concept notes, reaching out to potential donors, and going in-person to speak with donors. Additionally, I travelled to the Northern Cape to conduct interviews with alumni of programs aimed at up-skilling women for employment opportunities and empowering youth. I also completed a two-day Gender Based Violence First Responder training workshop.
