Working in the Technology Department, Normal Conducting Magnets section. Responsible for the design, development, procurement, consolidation of magnets. Involved in a full process of designing magnets and related tooling and equipment: - magnetic FEM simulations in Cobham Opera software - preparing technical documentation in CATIA V5 / SmarTeam - placing and managing orders, cooperation with suppliers and manufacturers - technical follow-up (manufacturers visits, tests in workshops) I was responsible for the consolidation works in the LINAC3 linear accelerator: spare status review and their procurement. I was also involved in designing prototype magnets and working on magnet designs for the EastArea and PS Booster upgrade, designed rapid prototyped titanium cooling parts for LINAC2. In my last project, I designed a custom pole distance measuring device for the normal conducting quadrupoles - this involved creating the concept, full 3D/2D design and documentation, placing and managing orders and writing data acquisition software in LabVIEW.
My main task was the development of design tasks directly related to special customer wishes. This included: - designing bus parts and sub-assemblies in 3D (in Catia V5 / Enovia LCA) and their integration into bus structure - procurement of technical documentation - assigning and inserting developed solutions into MAN systems, - close cooperation with purchase department, logistics and MAN’s suppliers - supporting production line by solving productions related problems I worked in three different sections throughout the years and was responsible for designing: - bus frame, - external equipment (doors and doors equipment, windows, external flaps, lighting, mirrors, external body) - interior equipment (finish of walls and roof, floor and floor covering, insulation, driver's place equipment, electric components (cameras, radios, antennas, lights, monitors, chargers)).
