Supervise the design, development, and testing of the manufacture of electrical equipment, including machinery controls, wiring, and lighting. Review and approve the cost effectiveness, reliability and safety of certain design models. Discuss estimates for time and cost to complete projects with clients. Supervise the simulation and testing of machine/structure/system operation and monitor product quality. Direct and coordinate manufacturing, construction, installation, maintenance, support, documentation, and testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, and customer requirements. Inspect completed installations and observe operations to ensure conformance to design and equipment specifications and compliance with operational and safety standards.
• Serve as Project Engineer/Lead for midstream facility and electrical design • Provide technical ownership in the generation of specifications, standards, and procedures concerning all power system engineering, design, and construction • Maintain existing datasheets for instruments and control devices. Develop new datasheets as needed • Serve in a consulting role to Operations and Technical Services for day to day electrical, automation, instrumentation, and power technical issues • Proactively develop strong working relationships with Operations’ leadership and discipline technicians and encourage ongoing dialogue to promote excellent working relationships between Engineering and Operations • Develop written job scopes, create one lines, approve vendor drawings • Perform field site visits to evaluate construction plans, existing electrical equipment and engineering designs for capital projects • Interface with power companies and take ownership of ensuring designed level of power is in place prior to project commissioning • Serve as Subject Matter Expert for the Electrical Engineering, construction, and project execution • Serve as the Project Manager on electrical and automation intensive maintenance capital projects (ie power upgrades, PLC upgrades, equipment obsolescence, etc.)
Provides technical engineering support to Operations and Engineering. Reviews technical documents to ensure they are in compliance with engineering standards and industry practices. Assists Environmental, Health and Safety with training on standards. Check the accuracy, completeness and quality of any aspect of the electrical system on projects. Participates on projects teams as the electrical lead with involvement in all electrical aspects of the projects, from conceptual and financial, through design, construction and commissioning. Assists in the preparation of the RFP documents for power distribution centers, reviews quotes for technical compliance and manages construction of power distribution centers within company guidelines. Provides operations technical support on motors, medium voltage variable frequency drives, instrumentation, low and medium voltage distribution equipment and trouble-shooting issues. Reviews and proposes facility upgrades for reliability and/or efficiency. Coordinates and executes electrical arc-flash studies based on NFPA-70E & IEEE 1584. Develops electrical models for fault, load flow and stability studies on existing electrical systems. Develops and ensures compliance with maintenance programs. Assists in the update and utilization of Technical Standards. Assists or lead efforts in “Trouble-Shooting” equipment issues
Oversee the design and construction of new and existing compressor stations. Work with design engineering firms for development of drawing packages that meet company requirements to create a safe and effective compressor stations. Travel to construction sites, design-firm offices, manufacturer locations, etc. Meet with other vendors to have them present and consider their products for use on future projects. Conduct meetings with companies as needed for progress of schedule. Assist with project management on budgeting, scheduling, and contract conformance as needed. Provide technical assistance during construction and assist with commissioning team. Update company specifications as needed. Attend training classes beneficial for career growth and development. Work with procurement to provide technical information to order materials.
