About

I currently work as a research analyst at the Ministry of Defence in Singapore, having been awarded me a full scholarship to pursue both my undergraduate and my Masters degree. During my days studying, I hugely enjoyed studying History and Politics. I remain particularly fascinated by the concept of global early modernity, and the ways in which different parts of the world intertwined in an era often wrongfully dismissed for not being 'modern'. I also enjoyed working on non-typical types of diplomatic relations, in particular studying the language behind China's panda diplomacy, and letters between Zheng 'pirates' and the Dutch East India Company in Taiwan. Outside of work, I enjoy running, gymming, eating, and singing acapella. In particular, I am hugely passionate about football, and my dream is to work in the industry in some capacity one day.

I was promoted to Senior Consultant in my second term at OSG. My second project was to work on a market expansion strategy into the continent for a multinational construction firm trying to expand beyond its home country, and seeking to do so in a targeted manner. In this project, I did detailed analyses of 4 countries and assessed the market landscape and possibility of market expansion in each of them, before using a set of metrics to narrow down which countries to target. I also conducted competitor analysis on other firms in the industry to assess what could be learned from their strengths, and what weaknesses could be capitalised on. Last, my team and I came up with a strategy to target the markets we had identified.
