I am a Partner and Managing Director at global strategy and management consulting firm KEARNEY and lead our Healthcare & Life Sciences business in Germany, Switzerland and Austria and our work on Biopharma innovation, research and development globally. Fueled by the desire to drive biomedical innovation forward, I have dedicated my career to advise investors and executive leaders on strategy and transformation topics, especially on productivity improvement in research and development, digitalisation as well as innovation- and growth strategies. I have 22 years of industry, advisory and leadership experience, amongst others as Head of Research Management at Europe's leading academic research center and university hospital Charité Berlin. I bring strong first-hand experience in discovery, development, commercial launch and lifecycle management of drugs, devices, diagnostics and services across a number of specialty medicine therapeutic areas. Over the years, I have intensively worked with business and technology leaders across Translational Medicine, Clinical Drug Development, Pharmacovigilance, Regulatory and Medical Affairs as well as Commercial Operations and Enterprise functions. I hold an MBA in Corporate Finance and an LL.M. in IP and Antitrust law from international studies in Germany, Singapore and the USA. I have also attended executive education programs at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management, Chicago, MA as well as at Saiid School of Business at Oxford University, UK, and frequently publish in international industry journals.
Advising corporate executive leaders and principal investors in biotech, pharmaceuticals, life sciences and healthcare on top-line growth and productivity improvement. Particular focus on large-scale transformations in R&D and innovation teams, commercial operations and corporate functions.
Contributing lectures on digitalization in the biopharmaceutical industry.
Co-led German/Swiss/Austrian Life Sciences Strategy practice, enabling double-digit YoY growth, accountable for Biopharma R&D strategy advisory business in Europe, advised Top-30 biopharma leaders on performance improvement and top-line growth, served as the Recruiting Lead for Accenture Strategy in Germany, successfully hiring >100 new colleagues p.a. into the firm.
Responsible for pre-clinical, translational and clinical research across all centers and campuses, supporting a teams of world-class medical scientists and principal investigators in managing their projects. Grew research funding by >10% CAGR to 150+ m EUR p.a., transformed a team of ˜50 colleagues from research administration into customer-centric service delivery units (incl. clinical trial mgmt., research controlling, grant acquisition support, legal & contracting, core facilities/ tech platforms (e.g in-vivo facility, genomic labs, imaging tech)), direct reporting line to executive management board with contribution to transformative projects (eg foundation of the Berlin Center of Health (BIH) together with Max Delbrueck Center for molecular Medicine MDC)
