Engineering and construction leader specialising in high‑risk, high‑consequence projects. I combine principal‑level design authority with end‑to‑end delivery experience to reduce risk, improve buildability, and deliver commercially predictable outcomes across major infrastructure and complex developments. Across more than 20 years and 10 countries, I have been ultimately accountable for making complex assets safe, buildable, and commercially viable, from first concept through to delivery and operation. I am a CPEng NZ and PMP‑certified engineering and construction leader with deep expertise in Three Waters and fire protection systems for civil infrastructure, including ports, roads, metro and rail, airports, parks, and high‑hazard industrial facilities. My construction experience spans high‑rise buildings, complex industrial developments, and commercial projects, with a strong focus on buildability, risk, and delivery certainty. My career combines two perspectives rarely held at this depth: principal‑level design leadership and full lifecycle construction delivery. As co‑owner and director of a 260‑person engineering and construction group in Brazil, I acted as main contractor on mid‑to‑large‑scale building and industrial projects. I held end‑to‑end accountability for programme, budget, cashflow, subcontractors, safety, quality, and engineering compliance. In New Zealand, I have recently worked with Jacobs as Design & Delivery Lead / Principal Civil Engineer on Auckland Council’s NZD $2B Flood Recovery Programme, leading flood risk assessments and stormwater infrastructure upgrades for Auckland Council and Healthy Waters. I bring strong working knowledge of NZ regulatory and local authority frameworks, including the RMA, Building Code, council standards, GD01/GD04, NZ Three Waters practice, ISO 19650 and NZS3910. Co founded and independently led a specialist wet utilities engineering consultancy delivering infrastructure scale water, wastewater, stormwater, and firewater systems across both public and private sector projects. Approximately 20–25% of projects were delivered directly for public sector clients, including metro and rail authorities and public water utilities, with the balance delivered for major private infrastructure owners. As Owner and Director, held full accountability for technical direction, regulatory approval, design sign off, and long term operability. Acted as Designer of Record and licensed signatory for water related disciplines on the majority of projects, carrying professional liability and delivery risk rather than operating solely as a production designer. Operated as a specialist wet utilities subconsultant embedded within large multidisciplinary programmes led by tier one engineering firms (including a 20+ year professional relationship with EGT), as well as direct consultant to public authorities and private clients. Led a core engineering team of up to six while remaining hands on across concept development, hydraulic modelling, detailed design, and construction support. Co owned and directed a construction company specialising in buildings and complex industrial facilities, growing the business from approximately 15 staff to a peak of 260 employees. Shared leadership responsibilities with a co director, with accountability spanning programme delivery, commercial performance, and workforce management. This role provided deep, practical insight into constructability, sequencing, cost control, contractor risk, and operational handover, which directly informed my engineering decision making as Director of PECN Engenharia. Executive leadership role with end-to-end accountability for multi‑project capital programmes, including governance, commercial performance, resourcing, and delivery outcomes across building and infrastructure portfolios.
