I sit at the intersection of entrepreneurship, transdisciplinary education, and innovation, and I get to live that every day at UTS. As Deputy Director of the Transdisciplinary Electives Program, I am currently leading the scaling of one of Australia's most awarded undergraduate programs, from 3,000 students in 2025 to 6,000 in 2026, while building the resourcing, infrastructure and team culture to sustain that growth. As Senior Lecturer in Entrepreneurship, I design and teach subjects that challenge students from 100+ degrees to tackle real-world problems with industry partners like Miro and UNICEF Australia. My flagship subject, the Transdisciplinary Action Lab (95008), embeds an effectuation-based entrepreneurial framework and integrates Generative AI to help students develop the mindset and skills to create impact across disciplines. My research focuses on student entrepreneurship and the future of entrepreneurship education, particularly how GenAI is reshaping how we teach creativity, ideation and entrepreneurial thinking in higher education. Before academia, I spent a decade as an innovation consultant (Capgemini, EY, Telstra) and founded several ventures. That industry experience still shapes how I teach and the programs I build. Outside of UTS, my most personal entrepreneurial venture has been co-building my son Taiyo's music career. Applying the same principles I teach — brand building, audience development, and iterative growth — we grew his social media presence to over 1 million followers and secured him spots on two national music TV shows. As Deputy Director of the award-winning Transdisciplinary Electives Program at UTS (QS Reimagine Education Gold Award (2025)), I lead the development and delivery of one of Australia's most innovative undergraduate learning experiences. The program embeds eight elective subjects across every UTS undergraduate degree, challenging students from all faculties to collaborate on real-world problems with industry partners, from Microsoft and UNICEF Australia to the City of Sydney and Miro. I am currently driving the strategic scaling of the program from 3,000 students in 2025 to 6,000 in 2026. Central to this growth is my oversight of resourcing and infrastructure across three key areas: - Planning and managing the annual subject offering and timetabling - Identifying scaling challenges and co-designing solutions with subject coordinators through structured Mastermind sessions - Spearheading the end-to-end management of casual staff, from setting recruitment parameters through to training and quality assurance Across these responsibilities, I ensure the program continues to deliver on its core promise: helping all UTS undergraduates develop the collaboration, problem-solving and cross-disciplinary skills that employers increasingly demand.
As Senior Lecturer in Entrepreneurship within the Transdisciplinary School, I develop, coordinate and teach across three subjects, reaching over 1,000 students each year. My primary focus is the Transdisciplinary Action Lab (95008), a subject I created in 2025 in partnership with Miro, embedding an effectuation-based entrepreneurial framework and integrating Generative AI into the learning experience. In 2026, I am scaling the subject from 350 to 600 students while implementing continuous improvements informed by student and staff feedback. Alongside this, I co-coordinate Reframing, Remixing, Reimagining Society (95002), a 350-student subject delivered in partnership with UNICEF Australia, and coordinate Initiatives and Entrepreneurship (81516) — a 180-student subject within the Bachelor of Creative Intelligence and Innovation. Across all three subjects, I teach tutorials and ensure consistent, high-quality delivery. My teaching approach is grounded in experiential, student-centred learning: equipping students with entrepreneurial thinking and transdisciplinary skills for real-world impact. My research sits at the intersection of student entrepreneurship and educational innovation. I investigate the lived experiences of student entrepreneurs and the pedagogical conditions that best support their development, while exploring the transformative role of Generative AI in entrepreneurship education: examining how it can enhance creativity, ideation, and the development of entrepreneurial mindsets in higher education contexts.
