- Technology blocks for detergents: surfactants chemistry / polymer technology for surface modification, cleaning and rheology / chelants / bleach / solvents and acid technologies. - Surface & soil chemistry and surface analysis with contact angle, QCM-D, DPI… - Development of mechanistical understanding of the cleaning process by correlating cleaning performance with physical parameters (static-dynamic interfacial tension, rheology). - Test methodology: through thorough understanding of consumer habits & needs, developing, validating and implementing performance test methods to accurately measure cleaning / end-result to predict consumer appreciation. - Resulting in 8 granted patents and numerous patent applications on formulations of Hard Surface Cleaners, Hand Dish products and polymer/surfactant technologies. International experience: Scientific team leader in 3 European funded Marie Curie projects in close collaboration with best in class Western Europe academic research centers: 1. Blue4Glue (2010 - 2012): the development of bio-inspired materials based on waterproof bioadhesives; in collaboration with the Fraunhofer Institute Bremen-Germany and the University Frederico II Naples-Italy. 2. Nanok (2005 - 2008): the development of polyelectrolyte nano complexes; in collaboration with the YKI institute, Stockholm, Sweden. 3. Bio-Seal (2007): developing novel and proprietary alternatives for more sustainable detergents, focusing on encapsulation. Interim team leader of 2 PhD in collaboration with the Birmingham University, UK. 1 year Bleach additives (Fabric Care) formulation and technology at P&G Italy (Pomezia) in 2007 4 years international assignment at P&G IRC- Roma research center (Italy), for the Implementation of Surface Care laboratory technologies and the training of the R&D organization (1997-2001).
