The Service Manager for the Nominal Operations of Sentinel 1A, the Commissioning of Sentinel 1C (Dec 2024 - Feb 2025) and now of Sentinel 1D (launch in October 2025): • Represents the primary interface point towards ESA Technical Officer for any aspect related to the Service, including overall resourcing. • Is the overall responsible for the management, implementation and execution of the Service. • Is the overall responsible for the transfer to operations and operational provision in line with the applicable Service Level Agreement, defining and implementing mitigation actions whenever necessary. • Seeks and acquires customer and user feedback on the performance of the service and take the necessary actions to ensure an optimal and compliant service. • Organises, manages and coordinates the Service team, interfacing as necessary with the subcontractors. • Provides the service planning and service level management, by checking the schedule and taking all necessary steps to ensure the service is delivered on time, at the required levels of quality and performance (SLA and KPI), within the targeted cost envelope, and in compliance with all applicable requirements. • Oversees the maintenance of the Service Management Plan (SMP), including the Risk Register. • Provides the management Quarterly Service Report, Quarterly Financial Report and the Service Delivery Closure Meeting (SCM Final) Service Report at the end of each Work Order. • Organises and conducts the Progress meetings: o Distributes the meeting agenda, prepares and circulate the meeting minutes. o Establishes an Action Item Control System ensuring that actions are raised and cleared effectively. o Establishes an internal Anomaly Item Control System ensuring that anomalies are effectively raised and managed. • Arranges the required support to ESA for the conduct of product assurance audits. • Prepares proposals (technical, management, financial aspects) in response of customer change requests.

SERCO SpA supporting to ESA (European Space Agency)-ESRIN (European Space Research INstitute), Frascati (Rome) (Italy). Activities objectives: Copernicus Sentinel-1 Sentinel-3 Serco team organization and contract compliance. On behalf of the Serco Company, the main activities deal with: • Carrying out the overall company governance; • Coordinating people by managing business needs relating to the contract; • Managing the team administrative tasks. • Easing the communication of Company to and from staff; • Handling interactions with ESA; • Reporting of the Sentinels team activities to ESA. • Managing evolutions in the organizational set-up of the team and in the contractual aspects; • Managing new recruitments by interacting with ESA, with the candidates and HR; • Coordinating, on customer needs, new tasks performed by the team and highlighting their outcomes to the Company; • Stimulating the team to share their job experience especially outside of routine • Coordinating the team during ITTs involving the Company.
Activities objectives: Sentinel-3 ESA/EUMETSAT joint operations. The Copernicus Sentinel-3 mission is jointly operated by ESA and EUMETSAT to deliver operational Land and Marine observation services. Main activities in supporting of ESA during the operations are: • Supervision of the PDGSs (Payload data Ground Segments) joint (Eumetsat-Marine + ESA-Land) processes and Land internal processes as well as checking of the data flows involving external entities to the ground segment. This activity foresees essentially the management of - System technical baseline; - Nominal and contingency operational events; - Common and Land products evolution and software changes; - Issues and anomalies; • Participation to meetings inherent the previous activities as - Deputy Chairman for the conduction of the S3 JOINT (ESA + Eumetsat) ARBs; - Contributor and co-chairman for the S3A+S3B PDGS Weekly Ops Meetings; - Checker of and attendee to the LOME (Land Operation, Maintenance, Engineering) annual review with the Industry. - Attendee and on-demand contributor to the LOME weekly Engineering meeting with the Industry. Main activity, in preparation of the Sentinel 3 satellites launches: • Responsibility on ESRIN side for the coordination of the GSV (Ground Segment Validation) tests. These tests, under the general coordination of the ESTEC (European Space Research and Technology Centre), are the ones integrating and validating the ESRIN PDGS and EUMETSAT PDGS with the FOSs (Flight Operation Segments) in ESOC (European Space Operation Centre)/ESA and in EUMETSAT and with the SALP (Altimetry and Precise Positioning Service) operated by CNES (the French Space Agency).
The task is aimed at providing technical support to operation team for the LEOP (Launch and Early Orbit Phase) management of the COSMO-SkyMed constellation first satellite; preparation and control of Commissioning tests and operations for the COSMO-SkyMed constellation first, second and third satellite; preparation of technical documentation and responsibilities of data package accompanying the milestones of Commissioning (tests of Satellite/Payload/GGS) for Italian Space Agency and Ministry of Defence; support for the coordination of TAS-I system team and of Telespazio subcontractor teams in relation to the Commissioning activities requirements validation.
The task is aimed at providing system engineering support for the coordination of integration and qualification activities of the COSMO-SkyMed Global Ground Segment (GGS)/ French Defence User Ground Segment (F-DUGS) and subsequently for system-level AIV activities of GGS. The activities to be supported entail the following aspects: • review and approval of technical documentation (plans, requirements, design) • interface with the subcontractors for technical aspects • addressing of technical choices • technical risks analysis • analysis of changes and evaluation of impacts • test data analysis (pass plan, allocation plan, programming requests lists, mission plan, acquisition plan, ingestion and planning progress reports). • attend to progress meetings, formal reviews and audits • management or preparation of RID (Review Item Discrepancy); SPR (Software Problem Report); NCR (Non Conformance Report). • frequent presences on the civil/defence head quarters and operational sites (Roma, Fucino, Matera, Pratica di Mare) composing the GGS in order to evaluate the in-progress activities status • validation and integration procedures correctness and completion evaluation and participation to the same procedures execution. • support of system AIV activities for GGS aspects • support of operational validation activities for GGS aspects • support of simulation & rehearsal activities for GGS aspects • support to system acceptance for GGS aspects Participation to mission readiness, LEOP and commissioning campaign for the first, second and third satellite (launched respectively on June 8, 2007, on December 9, 2007, on October 25, 2008)
Analysis and tests of the Software products (libraries, configuration tool, components…) constituting the PM (Production Manager, subsystem for SAR (Synthetic Aperture Radar) data elaboration) with relative realization of test procedures.
Configuration Manager tasks with regard to software and documentation are: • configuration identification; • release control; • configuration control; • configuration status accounting; • configuration verification and audit. Software Quality Manager tasks are: • definition of all the activities of Software Quality Assurance, and drafting the Software Quality Assurance Plan with the Project Manager; • prevention of the occurrence of non-conforming software products; • identification and recording of any software product quality problem and provision of solution ; • verification of the implementation of solutions; • ensuring conformity of the outputs produced at each phase of the S/W development with the inputs received from the previous phase (verification) and with the established requirements (validation); • showing adherence of the outputs produced to the standards established for the project; • elaboration and evaluation of SW metrics, organization and compilation of Code Inspection reports; • management of all activities related to software reviews and audits; • producing of appropriate software quality records. On completion of these activities the related documentation has been compiled.
Consultancy for Telespazio SpA. Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) technical specifications analysis. Specifically, the work is inherent in the SAR technology and physics relatively which the radar interferometry has been deepened. In this regard (together with the accompanying documentation compilation): • interferometric processor requirements have been focused; • processing chain and algorithm analysis was carried out; • (absolute and relative) errors assessment, as part of the plan for validation and calibration products, has been carried out.
After winning a public competition based on qualifications and interview, scholarship activities have been executed in the search line "Specialization about machines certification regard to security” as well as related to "GPS (Global Position System) technology for precision agriculture". The scholarship has been interrupted by engaging previously indicated job.
