As Managing Director – Technical Procurement, I am responsible for MRO and CapEx procurement across 20 sites in Europe, leading sourcing strategies, supplier negotiations, and investment decisions that ensure cost efficiency, reliability, and sustainable value creation. By working closely with engineering, operations, and supply chain teams, I drive process excellence, strengthen supplier partnerships, and secure critical resources to support growth and innovation across the network.
As Head of Indirect Procurement and Capex, I lead a dynamic team of 16 Category Leaders and Site Sourcing Leaders responsible for overseeing procurement activities across 16+ sites and offices. Leveraging strategic sourcing initiatives and supplier relationships, we optimize purchasing processes, drive cost savings, and ensure operational excellence. With a focus on indirect spend categories and capital expenditure projects, we collaborate cross-functionally to support organizational objectives and deliver sustainable value.
In this role I was responsible for all Contingent Workforce (Permanent-, Temporary- and External- Hires as for Subcontracting) related procurement topics and processes on a regional and global level. Other more general responsibilities were: • Developing, contributing and implementing of/to an holistic Contingent Workforce (sourcing) Strategy • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders • Ensuring the adequate planning of the team’s resources around the deal pipeline and renewals of key contracts • Leading complex RFPs and negotiations and supporting the team in the analysis of the information and the negotiation of the contract in conjunction with the stakeholders and legal teams • Identifying and evaluating existing and potential suppliers as well as establishing and maintaining a Supplier Relationship Management approach, including a formal supplier evaluation process • Developing and fostering vendor relations from a business perspective, to include regular assessments, risk management, and innovative processes • Contributing to driving standardization of global processes and operations • Achieving cost reduction targets, helping to develop new cost reduction strategies and improving negotiable spend via sourcing and demand management

Responsibilities: • Serve as change agent to actively drive the optimization and adaptation of strategic sourcing best practices • Create proper documentation for sourcing process related changes / improvements • Provide end user training related to existing processes and process changes • Lead regional compliance efforts • Ensure that all processes adhere to the global Celanese standards and are compliant with SOX • Develop consensus for a standard global solution and clearly articulate necessary global variability
MRO procurement Responsibilities: • The Netherlands and Belgium (backup Germany) • Ensure reliable supply of goods and services • Use and coordinate quality notifications for issues resolution and process improvements • Resolve internal and external issues related to supply and the “Purchase to Pay” (P2P) process • Manage key relationships with suppliers, commodity managers, requisitioners, receivers, accounts payable • Identify and execute on continuous improvement opportunities to continue to streamline functions
