Marcel Stalder is the Group CEO of Chain IQ, a global leading tech-based procurement professional service provider that generates above-market value for its multinational clients. An entrepreneurial, client- and result-oriented leader with a strong can-do mentality, Marcel has a rich history of working in global professional services firms across various geographies. He possesses deep knowledge in many industry sectors with a wide-ranging global network and is skilled in leadership, strategy and business development, digital business model transformation, finance, risk and supply chain management and public accounting. He has a proven track record of successfully developing outstanding teams as well as setting up and growing various businesses. Before joining Chain IQ, Marcel was EY’s market leader for Germany, Switzerland, and Austria. He headed up the EY industry sector organization and was a member of the EY Europe, Middle East, India, and Africa (EMEIA) market leadership team. Furthermore, he served as the chairman of the board of directors of Ernst & Young AG Switzerland and acted as the country managing partner and CEO. Prior to that, he led the financial services organization (FSO) in Switzerland, successfully building both the financial services advisory business and EY’s insurance sector, the latter as a member of EY’s global insurance sector leadership team. In 2016, Marcel positioned EY as the first large Swiss enterprise to accept Bitcoin as a payment currency. He also offered a crypto wallet to EY’s employees in Switzerland when the price of one Bitcoin was at a fragment of today's value. Later, he was an initiator and founding member of Credex, one of the first independent digital marketplaces for mortgages. For two consecutive years, in 2016 and 2017, he was awarded as one of the top digital shapers in Switzerland by business magazine Bilanz. Marcel currently serves as the president of Lucerne Dialogue (Europe Forum) and sits on the advisory board of the Association of Swiss Companies in Germany (VSUD). He is a member of the chapter Doing Business in Switzerland of the Swiss-American Chamber of Commerce. Previously, Marcel was a co-founder and member of the executive board of digitalswitzerland and was a board member of EXPERTsuisse, the Swiss Association for Public Accountants, Tax, and Fiduciary Experts. Marcel Stalder started his professional career with an apprenticeship at UBS in his home canton of Lucerne. He qualified as a Certified Public Accountant in the U.S. and graduated from Lucerne University of Applied Science and Arts.
