Gepolitics and communications for global business — delivering strategic insights at the intersection of commerce and government to establish credibility. I'm the founder of two ventures, reflecting my commitment and proven ability to lead impactful initiatives in geopolitics and communications. Caracal Global | Always Be Communicating. A geopolitical business communications consultancy serving global business leaders. We specialize in Globalization + American Politics — bringing Intelligence + Strategy + Communications to executives who can't afford to be reactive in an environment defined by permanent disruption. The work includes WSJ-style executive briefings, op-ed writing and placement, CEO thought leadership, media relations across top-tier global outlets, and Chief Communications Strategist services. Brigadoon | Know What's Next. A global network organization convening intimate, PowerPoint-free gatherings of founders and thought leaders. Since 2013, Brigadoon has hosted senior leaders at venues from Sundance Mountain Resort to private estates in Scotland — operating under Chatham House Rule, with no name tags and no pitches, just signal-rich conversation about what's coming next. My work is guided by three proprietary frameworks: E-STOCK for idea dissemination, TWIN for audience segmentation, and SIGNAL for information analysis, all rooted in the principle of Always Be Communicating to demonstrate expertise. Before founding Caracal Global, I served as Communications Director at the Center for AI Policy and collaborated with the US-China Business Council. My experience includes work on national political campaigns in the US and UK, and authoring books such as Globalization and American Politics and 50 Negronis. Based in Detroit, with deep roots in the Global Great Lakes region. Active in Washington, DC, and London. Sid Mashburn is a vertically integrated luxury retailer of men’s and women’s apparel plus accessories, with stores in Atlanta, Houston, Dallas, Georgetown, Los Angeles, and New York. Sid Mashburn designs, manufactures, and markets a nationally recognized assortment of Mashburn-branded products alongside high-quality, iconic brands. Sid Mashburn's design philosophy is to make clothes that can take you from Mississippi to Manhattan to Milan—and back again—without looking or feeling out of place. That means everything from sartoriale suits made in Italy (natural shoulder, high armhole, full canvas) all the way down to ring-ring American blue jeans in the perfect slim-straight shape. Sid Mashburn takes pride in using the same mills, tanneries, and makers as capital-L-Luxury brands, but taking a more accessible approach to pricing. The result is a mashup of classic American style with Neapolitan ease, Southern hospitality, and a touch of British quirk, with a healthy appreciation for both the high and the low… quintessential menswear that doesn’t take itself too seriously.
The Center for AI Policy is a nonpartisan research organization that advocates for responsible AI policy and educates policymakers about the unique risks of frontier AI.
