Administrative duties. Observation of political debates.
I helped with canvassing and leaflet distribution. I assisted with large administrative tasks and administrative research. I visited Leinster House, observed debates, and learned about the political process.
I assisted with serving breakfast, taking orders, and preparing drinks for guests. I learned how to wait on tables and I also polished, dried and washed crockery. This experience gave me valuable insight into working in a fast-paced environment, while also improving my interpersonal skills.
Resident Support: I led exercise classes, facilitated bingo games, and I engaged in meaningful, and enjoyable conversations with elderly residents. I assisted with labelling, packaging and delivering Meals on Wheels for people in need. I assisted with setting tables, serving meals and keeping the area clean. I made creative contributions to improving the welfare of he residents, these suggestions were well recieved by the staff there.
I attended talks and tours to understand timber production, forest care, and sustainability. We went to places like the Smartply factory, Avondale House, and Raheenleagh wind farm to learn about different aspects of the industries. We recieved advice on CV writing, interviews, and LinkedIn profiles for future job opportunities. I collaborated with other interns and Coillte staff, learning from their experiences.
