Monitoring ongoing capital programme through meetings with Service Based Finance and Non Financial colleagues, analysing actual expenditure and ensuring correct accounting treatment in line with IFRS/CIPFA/LASAAC guidance. Producing accurate quarterly Strategic Report for discussion at Strategic level.. Providing technical accountancy advice to internal stakeholders and management personnel. Act as point of contact on tecchnical accountancy issues, adhering to IFRS/CIPFA/LASAAC code of conduct and guidance. This is communicated through technical guidance and coversation in language understandable by both financial and non-financial personnel. Also act as a Corporate Finance representative on various individual projects ensuring correct procedures are followed and compliance with financial guidelines are adhered to. Assisting in the production of the annual Capital Budget for the Council through meetings and discussions with key personnel, analysing existing project progress and any changes in the political or macro environment. Assisting in the preparation of the Draft Budget to be discussed by Senior Management and Elected Members and the annual Council meeting. Analysing business cases for both internal and external capital projects, providing expertise and scrutiny to both internally generated assumptions and consultants reports. Preparing high quality scrutiny reports encompassing Sensitivity Analysis on key variables and the suitability of the project in respect of the councils overall strategic goals and value for money commitment.
Responsible for producing Financial Accounts for a range of businesses varying in size and revenue. Analysing financial information through the use of various Ratio Analysis tools and identifying and commenting on Trend Analysis in these areas. Meeting face to face with clients to discuss financial information and the service provided. Providing a tailored, value for money package to suit individual client needs. Managing and prioritising a challenging workload, ensuring that agreed budgets with clients are not exceeded. Ensuring time spent on each job is recorded and charged appropriately. Keeping clients informed of any deviations and additional requirements needed, and maintaining a professional and approachable attitude all times.
