Prior to immersing himself full-time into FoCoSS Forensics in December of 2019, Marc Dupre had over twenty four years of forensic experience as a civilian scientist with the New Hampshire State Police Forensic Laboratory in Concord, New Hampshire, an American National Standards Institute - National Accreditation Board (ANAB) accredited laboratory. He was employed as the Supervisor and Technical Manager of the Firearms & Toolmark Unit, Supervisor and Technical Manager of the Identification Unit and Supervisor of the Evidence Control Unit. He is certified by the International Association for Identification (IAI) as a Certified Latent Print Examiner and also certified by the Association of Firearm and Tool Mark Examiners (AFTE) in the areas of Firearms Examination, Tool Mark Examination and Gunshot Residue/Distance Determination. Marc’s areas of expertise include: Firearms Testing and Evaluation, Bullet and Cartridge Case Comparisons, Shooting Scene Reconstruction, Powder and Primer Gunshot Residue, Range of Shooting Distance Determination, Tool Mark Examination and Comparisons, Latent Impressions (finger, palm and foot friction ridge skin), Patent Blood Impression Enhancement, Obliterated Serial Number Restoration, Physical/ Fracture Match, Indented Writing Restoration, Questionable Pattern Interpretation, Drug Chemistry and Glass Examination. He has worked over 3000 cases in his career and has testified in numerous state and federal courts for both the prosecution and defense.
